Ferry Tickets to Mykonos
Welcome to The island of the Winds, the unique and cosmopolitan Mykonos!
Mykonos is one of the most popular islands in the Cyclades, with a major cosmopolitan vibe, enchanting ruins and the brightest sea bathed in the sun.

By mentioning Mykonos all that comes to mind, is deluxe hotels, spectacular beaches, vibrant nightlife, and white Cycladic architecture.

Sightseeing

The first thing that catches your eye by entering the harbor is a row of seven white windmills located on a small promontory. Most likely, they were built by the Venetians back in the 16th century and are oriented north to catch the prevailing wind. Built near the harbor to grind grain unloaded from ships to facilitate transportation, those mills have become a symbol of the entire island.

anemomyloi-mykonosBe sure to visit the Church of the Panagia Paraportiani, the Little Venice quarter, the Fish Market as well as Ano Mira, which is famous for its monastery of virgin Mary of Turlos which was founded by two monks from the island of Paros in 1543.

The island’s most humble yet attractive archaeological museum contains artifacts found in Mykonos and the surrounding islands from prehistory to the end of the Hellenistic period around the 1st century BC. You may also find exceptionally old ceramic pottery with Cycladic ornamentation dating back to 2800 BC.

Six kilometers north of Chora, there is an active lighthouse that controls traffic along the strait between Mykonos and neighboring Tinos. Located far above the water, this building was built as an octagonal tower in 1891 and flashes a white light every ten seconds. Although you cannot go inside, the lighthouse is well worth visiting just to look at the stunning view.
